Pipetite FAQ - Sanitary Sealing Solutions
Pipetite® is a hygienic, flexible wall, floor, and ceiling seal used to seal pipe, tube, or conduit penetrations in a way that maintains sanitary standards. It allows for movement while keeping contaminants out and preventing washdown fluid or chemical ingress.
Pipetite® is suitable for:
- Process & Clean Room Facilities: Sealing penetrations at walls, floors, ceilings, vessels, and tanks.
- HVAC & Plumbing: Sealing conduits and protecting against condensation.
- Electrical & IT: Managing cabling and sealing racks or control panels.
- Construcation: Replacing roof flanges and seals, and sealing temporary or permanent wall/floor penetrations.
There are several models:
- Standard Pipetite®: Pipetite standard is ideal for new tubing installations where the boot can slide over the end of the tubing before it is installed.
- ReBoot®: Designed for existing pipelines already in place.
- Flat Pipetite®: For flush surfaces.
- Grommets and Mini Grommets: Pipetite® Grommets and Mini Grommets are ideal for creating watertight seals around wires and tubing entering cabinets, panels, and enclosures.
- Sleeve Boot: Ideal for floor penetrations and tube-in-tube transitions.
- Multi Grommet: Organizes multiple small cables/tubes.
The flexible white silicone cone compresses snugly around the pipe or tube while allowing axial and radial movement. This prevents cracks or breaks that would otherwise compromise sanitary conditions.
Yes. It is made from hygienic white silicone with a 316 stainless steel backing ring. It's rated for -40°F to 500°F and is resistant to cleaning chemicals. Some versions are also NEMA and IP34 rated.

Use Pipetite® Flat or Sleeve Boot models. These prevent washdown infiltration, insect entry, and microbial harborage at floor-wall junctions. ReBoot® may be used if the pipe is already installed.
Yes. Pipetite® Mini Grommets are NEMA rated for type 4, type 4x, and type 6 enclosures. They're ideal for control panels and electrical cabinets requiring moisture and dust ingress protection.
Yes. Use the Pipetite ReBoot® version. It splits to wrap around the existing pipe and then reseals. It's perfect for retrofits or situations where pipe removal is not possible.
- Use flexible seals like Pipetite® to allow for movement.
- Avoid using caulk or rigid gaskets that can crack.
- Select the appropriate seal model depending on the installation stage and the wall surface.
- Use hygienic mounting hardware and ensure the seal is flush to avoid microbial harborage.
Unsealed penetrations:
- Harbor bacteria and pathogens
- Allow moisture ingress and mold growth
- Permit pest intrusion
- Proper sealing with a flexible sanitary seal like Pipetite® ensures the system's compliance, cleanliness, and longevity
Yes. Pipetite® Multi-Grommet models are designed to organize and seal multiple cables or tubing. They provide moisture and debris protection, making them ideal for IT, electrical panels, and cleanroom cabling.
